Belinda realized there was an overwhelming need for more access to mental health services and care which warranted her career change from emergency and internal medicine. Having a family member battle major depression and helping them avoid multiple suicide attempts made her realize this transition was a need. She has witnessed many shy away from getting help that they need due to the significant amount of negative stigma associated with mental illness. Her goal is My goal is to decrease hospital stays while providing excellent care to patients right from the comfort of your own home through Telepsychiatry.
“My passion in life has become to normalize mental health and allow people to feel comfortable and safe expressing themselves. Having worked multiple specialty care areas, mental health care is just as important going to your primary care provider for routine health visits. No more suffering in silence and keeping quiet. No more being judged for talking about mental illness”.
