Laracel is a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from the University of Wyoming. She has always had a passion for psychology and the study of human nature, and received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology before completing her nursing degree. She sees the role of a psychiatric nurse practitioner as a bridge between psychology and medicine.
Her approach involves treating each person spiritually, mentally, and physically through pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatments. She sees the potential within every person to become the best version of themselves and recognizes the importance of addressing all three of these elements to achieve optimal well-being. Her specific focus during the last year of her program was to help patients find meaning and purpose in their lives to overcome depression and other mental health issues. She acknowledges that every moment of our lives is valuable and nothing is meaningless, including our suffering and illness. She also enjoys learning personality theories including Myers-Briggs and Socionics and has studied them for over 14 years a hobby. She believes personality typology is helpful in better understanding and improving ourselves, others, and our relationships.
