Stavroula Sassos, LMSW is a Licensed Master Social Worker. She graduated from the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College with her Master of Social Work degree. Throughout her work in the clinical field, Stavroula has provided care to a wide variety of clients including those diagnosed with Anxiety Disorders, Mood Disorders, ADHD, and Substance Use Disorders. Stavroula also works with their clients to address their other personal concerns which range from relationship conflicts, low self-worth, occupational stress, self-empowerment, and difficult life transitions. Stavroula is an LGBTQ+ affirmative therapist. She acknowledges the importance of addressing the specific clinical concerns that arise within the LGBTQ+ population such as gender identity, familial conflict, and discrimination by systems.
Stavroula utilizes a number of modalities in her approach to therapy, pulling from psychodynamic theory, motivational interviewing, and cognitive behavioral therapy. Her goal is to create an atmosphere of safety, warmth, and openness to work with clients in achieving meaningful work.
